Melita Ryan completed her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at Curtin University in 2004 and has worked in the area of hand and upper limb injuries since 2006. Melita has worked in a variety of specialties in hand and upper limb therapy including public and private treatment settings. Melita has experience in treating acute pre and post operative hand trauma from her time at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth. She also gained experience in work related upper limb injuries in private practice in Perth.
In the UK Melita has worked as a Senior Hand Therapist at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, and a Clinical Specialist in Hands for the City of Westminster. Melita is both a member of the Australian Association of Hand Therapists and the British Association of Hand Therapists. She currently holds the position of Vice Treasurer on the executive committee of the British Association of Hand Therapist and is working toward her BAHT accreditation and Masters of Hand Therapy.
